3-7 August-Preschool offers sent to families

Preschools-Throsby Preschool is a "high demand " preschool.  We will not be able to accept enrolments who do not meet the prioritisation criteria.  Applicants who live in a PEA Shared Zone are not guaranteed a place at their preferred PEA school and may be offered a place at a different PEA school in the Shared Zone with greater capacity.

Enrolment applications for the current school year are processed as they are received. See  Accepting my offer for information on how to accept an offer to an ACT public school.

If you need assistance with the online enrolment form or have additional questions, please us on 6142 2880 or via email on throsbyschoolinfo@ed.act.edu.au, or alternatively you can contact the Education Directorate’s Enrolments Helpline on (02) 6205 5429 or by email education.enrolment@act.gov.au.

Priority Enrolment Area (PEA) for Throsby P-6 school

All students are guaranteed a place for kindergarten to year 6 at their local Priority Enrolment Area school.

Schools look at enrolment applications and accept enrolments based on criteria outlined in the Directorate policy.  Our existing preschool families do not have to re-enrol for Kindergarten IF you live in our PEA, Priority Enrolment Area.

Students attending our preschool outside our Priority Enrolment Area or in our Shared Zone will have to apply for Kindergarten as an out of area student if they wish to continue at Throsby.  Please check with us if you are unsure what to do.  Students are guaranteed a Kindergarten place at their PEA school.

The Priority Enrolment Area includes Throsby, Kenny, and South Forde (south of Helen Leonard Crescent and west of Amy Ackman Street), with Gungahlin and part of Harrison (above Mapleton Ave) as a Shared Zone between Throsby School and Harrison School’s P-6.

If you live in a Shared Zone, you are guaranteed a place for your child in one of the schools in the Shared Zone, but not necessarily your first preference school. Principals of Shared Zone schools work collaboratively in line with the Kindergarten to Year 12 PEA Shared Zone Management Plan to balance enrolments within a Shared Zone, to ensure all schools can meet the needs of their students. This means your application may be referred to the other Shared Zone schools.

If you would like to know more about enrolling your child, please visit the Education website at https://www.education.act.gov.au/public-school-life/enrolling-in-a-public-school for more information, and to enrol using the online enrolment form, or call the school on 61422880.
